WOMEN'S CIRCLES
Many years ago, women gathering in support of each other and the entire village/tribe was a common and normal occurrence, but as modern life has taken over we have forgotten this sense of community, connection and ability to simple hold space for each other.
Women were the heart of the village. They looked after the children of the village together, they carried wisdom of caring, supporting and herbal medicine. They were looked to for this wisdom, and when they called for the village they answered.
Are you calling for the village? Do you feel a little lost in this hectic modern world? Do you seek to be within this supportive environment once more?
Welcome back to the circle!
Circles are not complicated things and nothing is required of you, but many people can feel intimidated or unsure about attending their first circle.
A circle is simple a space to be held, seen and heard (should you wish). The space is created for you to enter into, often in accordance with the current phase of the moon, time of year and current start sign, but the circle has no specific religion and all are welcome.
You will be welcomed, we may spend some time cleansing and shaking off the day's worries through smudging (this may include burning sage or palo santo) or through meditation. I will then share a story, or a point to consider and you will be invited to consider how this sits with you, whether any particular feelings, images, memories etc arise for you (or not). If you wish you may then share something of this, equally you can just listen. In this moment we are not looking to "fix" what a sister shares, but to allow her space to be seen and heard with no judgement.
We may then use oracle cards to consider messages from our self and spend some time journaling before closing the circle.
Anything shared remains in the circle.
This is a collective remembering of a practice that we know innately, supporting and sharing space together.
